The late Mangi Lal Deedwaniya started his business with remarkable simplicity—manufacturing and personally delivering Indian cigarettes, commonly known as Beedi, by bicycle to a China Clay mine owner.

This humble beginning laid the foundation for what would eventually grow into a longstanding business associated with the Indian industrial minerals industry.

In 1962, M.L.D. Deedwaniya incorporated Deedwaniya & Sons, marking an important milestone in the Group's history. A year later, in 1963, the business began mining and distributing crude China Clay, establishing its early connection with the mineral industry.
